NYC Tech Blood Drive - Valentine’s Day Edition
This past weekend was the 3rd, NYC Tech Blood Drive. The team at Shelby.tv volunteered their offices, and we were open for business.
Thanks to all who retweeted our tweets, reblogged our posts, and told their friends about it. Not to mention all who showed up on a Saturday to donate.
We had a great day, again. Shelby’s office is an amazing place to spend the day, and when you add to that the fact that we had another day to catch up with, or meet a few more great people, it was damn near perfect.
We had 22 people show up to donate, which is definitely a decent number, but it can still be better. That’s why, for the next blood drive we’re going try to shake things up a bit. We’re going to have the next drive some time during the week, rather than on a Saturday.
We’re doing this in hopes to grow the amount of people who show up during to donate. We’ve been hovering around the 30 donations mark, and while I’m truly grateful for all who show up, I think we can do better.
For the next drive, I’d like to break 50. They’ll be more updates about the next drive over the next few weeks, but for now I’d like to just say thank you to all have came out for this past one, and all who came out to the ones before. With 3 blood drives, we’ve had the opportunity to save over 100 lives.
When I see that number, I’m floored, and really proud of what we’ve done so far. I only hope to continue to grow it, and to save even more.
