Everyday
The one sure way to get better is through persistence. Being able to say I’ve done something everyday to improve myself is my ultimate goal.
Today I started a small and simple list of three things I’d like to make sure I do everyday. The key was to keep them simple. They may not seem like much, just small bricks. But over time, they’ll form a strong, sturdy wall.
A true champion has the rare ability to take anything in his/her life, good or...

Deny Your Customers? (Repost)
*I’m first posted this about a month ago, however I’m posting it again because I’m interested in getting more feedback. Please tell me your thoughts.*
Obviously, in most cases this is definitely not the best practice. But, what if your product is a disruptive technology that might be a little ahead of it’s time?
If some of your customers are still using antiquated...
Trying Too Hard
Don’t misunderstand the title of this post. There’s no substitute for hard work, and as far as I’m concerned, you can not work too hard. I’m talking about the people I see trying so hard to be something they aren’t.
Someone who tries to be a leader by telling people what to do, isn’t a leader. Someone who tries to be friends with everyone but isn’t...
G-chat: Off
I’m gonna have to apologize to the people on my list who may have thought that I just wasn’t in front of my computer, and have been on the road for the past week. I admit, that wasn’t the case.
I’ve purposely turned G-chat off. But, don’t be offended, it’s not you… it’s me.
I’ve noticed the more I focus on one thing, the better I am at...
Square Root Clock
NERDS!!!!! kinda awesome though!
danspinosa:
My wife is a Math teacher in Brooklyn. I just created this home-made square root clock for her classroom:
To build it, I took a 7” diameter plastic clock purchased at Ikea, opened it up, popped off the clock hands and removed the backing. Then I printed this:
cut it out and affixed it to the clock as the new face. BAM. Square root clock.

Postmortem
After the HomeField team got back from the IMLCA convention in Baltimore, we immediately had a postmortem about our efforts. It was incredibly helpful since the information was fresh in our minds. I’m impressed, and completely pleased with our ability to be honest with each other, and with our desire to continually improve in every aspect of what we’re doing. It got me thinking how beneficial...

Competition
What if there was a site where users can compete on anything? I think it’s human nature to not only want to do better than the someone else, most thrive under those conditions.
Weigh 225lbs, and want to lose 10? Come to the site and go up against a group of people who are in the same weight class who want to reach the same goal. Compete head to head to see if you can reach your goal the...

Differently?
I went to a Meetup last night to hear a panel of 5 experts speak about a very specific area of online business. There advice was excellent, and absolutely something us at HomeField need to start thinking about for the future.
However, as I walked away from the meeting, the one thought that kept running through my head was, “In what way can I approach this differently?”
Heed advice,...
